About me…

My love of all things land­scape came to me like an epiphany when I pur­chased my first home. Though I’ve always seemed to have a strong design aes­thetic and have received sep­a­rate degrees in Fine Arts  (Uni­ver­sity of Cincin­nati) and Archi­tec­ture (South­ern Cal­i­for­nia School of Archi­tec­ture), the truth is that before I owned my own place and came to care about how it was pre­sented to the world, I had never really focused in on the rich and splen­didly diverse beauty that nature alone can afford us.

Raised in the Mid­west, I am for­tu­nate now to live in Pacific Pal­isades, Cal­i­for­nia, where the ocean and moun­tains live in close prox­im­ity and Mother Nature has deftly applied her artis­tic brush to the sur­round­ings. Yes, I have become an avid gar­dener (every­thing grows here; I just stick it in the ground) and I’m con­stantly search­ing for new ways to embell­ish the ol’ homestead.

Not sur­pris­ingly, my rea­son then for start­ing Socal​nurs​ery​plants​.com should be fairly obvi­ous. As a con­firmed nurs­ery geek, I have, at times, been frus­trated when search­ing for plant mate­ri­als, sim­ply because Los Ange­les is so big. In that regard, my new web­site hope­fully will make it eas­ier for all of us to locate the right nurs­ery for our var­ied plant and land­scap­ing needs while sup­port­ing local business.

As for the Blog por­tion of the website…this will deal with my favorite things in life: gar­den­ing and travel. So much to see; so lit­tle time! And my feel­ing is that if infor­ma­tion is king, then shar­ing new ideas and expe­ri­ences along with the facts can only make for a bet­ter kingdom!
